Biography
Gavin Singleton is a UK based composer working across film, advertising, fashion, video-games, art & a range of creative collaborations with industrial, interior, textile and conceptual designers.
He strives to get to the emotional heart within the work itself to allow him to construct an aural world in which to envelop the listener.
He is passionate about creative collaborations and partnerships with filmmakers, artists, fashion designers, musicians, writers and academics.
His work is often described to have a haunting quality and encompasses heartfelt piano, electronics, analogue & modular synthesisers, ambient soundscapes, contemporary classical instrumentation and electric guitar.
Recent work includes his original score for the short film Unsaid commissioned by Kia, News UK & Sky Media starring James Hillier (The Crown | Netflix); fashion brand ident for Irish fashion designer Úna Burke to promote her unique leatherwear which has been featured in Game of Thrones, The Hunger Games & Star Trek: Discovery; and the Brazilian short sci-fi film; Rocha Matriz, that highlights the cost of mining natural resources, told from a near-future prospective.
He has twice collaborated with with award-winning creative projects featured at Salone del Mobile.Milano such as his work for COS x Studio Swine with New Spring; which won the Milano Design Award for Most Engaging Exhibition; and more recently for the future textile focused work Form der Farbe (The Shape of Colour) created by Anima Ona in collaboration with GRDXKN for the event.
Alongside his composition work, he has provided sound design & foley work for Paramount Pictures (Not Fade Away - dir. David Chase) and Jennifer Lopez (Love and Glamour).
Outside of music, Gavin also has a background in graphic design and his design portfolio can be found on Behance.
He owns three cats, and they like sitting on synthesizers. albeit, not in space.
